通过看完全文，知道Bob是借给Jim了十美元。动词不是借入（borrow），而是借出，用lend的过去式lent。
6）So he goes there to see him late in the evening.
goes→went。
8）"Well, he must be in," he thought, and knock again, and said,
Knock→ knocked
9）"I know you are in, Jim. Your shoes is out here."
shoes是复数形式，is→ are。
求助一：borrow是把钱接进来，lend是借出去。
求助二：第一句中的once就是曾经的意思吧。once引导从句的话，就成了一旦...就...的意思。应该是条件从句。一旦怎么样，是没发生的事呢，所以用一般现在时或将来时吧。不是很清楚。瞎猜的。
