In the wall门、窗在墙上用in穿过墙； on the wall 贴在、挂在墙上用on挂在墙上； 简单来说一个在墙的里面，一个在表面。

    @侯丽娜 tell带双宾语,因此what a picture is 'about'是宾语从句,作tell的直接宾语。you作间接宾语，这句话的意思是他们总是告诉你图画是关于什么内容的.

in是指此物属于墙的一部分，比如，砖头属于墙的一部分。on是指在墙上，挂着或者贴在墙上，不是构成墙的一部分。不知道这样解释你是否能理解！
