1)I was having dinner at a restaurant when Harry Steele come in.

2)Harry worked in a lawyer's office years ago,

4)He gets a good salary, but he always borrows money from his friends and never pays it back.

我正在餐馆儿吃饭时，harry进来了。 come→came
3)but he now worked at a bank. （×）
有now，应该是进行时。但他现在在一家银行工作。He is now working at a bank.
7)While he was eating, I ask him to lend me &2. （×）
我趁他吃饭时，跟他借了2块钱。ask→asked. 另外，&符号是and的意思。美元符号是$,英镑是£。
8)To my surprise, he gave me the money immediate. （×）
立即把钱给了我，立即应为副词形式。immediate→immediately。
求助一： 我觉得一般都是Ving的形式。表示“当某个动作正在进行的时候...”。
求助二：我没看出第五句少了个the。 the same table。 真是越简单越容易看漏呀！
不理解的地方是：作者为什么就只借2块钱？多借点儿，不就抵得上这顿饭钱了嘛。

    @王亚茹 第3句中改成working—works行吗？ at a bank改成in a bank行吗？
    第5句中可以用很多个and 吗?不是最后两个才用and连接的吗？

      @张聪 张聪，我觉得还是用进行时好。这和上文内容形成对比，前文说harry以前在律师事务所工作，而现在在银行工作，强调的是现在。如果没有前文，即没提harry跳槽这件事的话，用works就可以了。我是这么理解的。
      第5句我觉得可以用很多and，只要动词的时态、动作发生的先后顺序正确就可以。我语法学得也不太扎实，仅供做个参考吧。

    @郭月燕 3 but he now worked at a bank.中的he now worked改为he is now working。我觉得改成 but he now works at a bank 更好一些。

第6句：在我吃饭的时候之前harry从来没有找我借过钱，本来吃饭就是过去式，为什么不能用had done形式，过去的过去？

1）：while 后面，我认为一般是跟进行时。
求助二：work for, work in,work at怎么区分呢？ 第二句说的是work in +地点，但是第三句又是work at+地点。 这几个区分不来。请各位高手指教

    @彭丽燕 work for 为谁工作，work in ：1）插入，穿入，渗入；2）在一个大的地方或者一个领域，work at 比较具体一点，在一个点工作。

1came,when引导的时间状语从句用一般时态，可是时间点或段，此句是点，主句一般过去进行时，从句应一般过去式3is working,now提示现在进行时5at the same table,固定用法7asked,while引导的时间状语从句一般是进行时，现在或过去，表和主句谓语动作同时发生存在，只能表时间段，不能是点，动词只能是延续性动词，此句从句是过去进行时，主句应是一般过去式8immediately,修饰gave,用副词形式，作谓语动词的补语，形容词形式用来修饰名词作定语。

    @高云平 while除了引导时间状语从句，还有以下用法:1只要。=as long as,There will be life,while there is water and air.2然而。She is a teacher,while I am a doctor.3虽然，尽管。=although.While I see what you say, I can't agree you.4名词。一会，一段时间。Where have you been all this while?

while后面不一定都跟进行时，但主句和从句的时态需保持一致。第5句究竟错在哪里？

一直在2.5之间徘徊，还是选错了。at the same table，少了个the是怪怪的，但觉得2更明显一些，然后5就越念越顺。2里边，为什么不是自从好几年前开始他就在哪里工作？所以应该是Harry had worked in a lawyer's office since years ago.为什么不是这样的？

    @曹好君 当这个事情发生的时候，另一个事情正在发生，while后面可接进行时。一个事情在另一个事情发生过程中的某个时间发生的后面的时态和前面的保持一致，一般现在时，一般过去时应该都可以。

第5句没发现，少了the at the same table ,应该是特指的。9 也选错了。我以为harry said ;'i have never borrowed any money from you 'have --had 这里错了。时态的用法还要多练
