On→ at。 Call on + 人，人称代词。 Call at + 地方
call in 是请谁谁来的意思吧。

2）Yesterday beggar knocked at my door. 应该是 a beggar，有冠词。4）In return to this, the beggar stood on his head and sang songs. 应该是in return for this,表示原因，读起来更自然一些。6）Then he puts a piece of cheese in his pocket and went away. puts 改成put，and链接的动词went是过去式。8）Everybody knew him. knew应该是knows，因为不是过去认识。10）He calls on every house in the street once a month and always asks for a meal and a glass of beer. call on 应该是call at。Call on和call at的意思一样，都是"拜访""访问"，但call on后接表示人的名词或代词，call at 后接表示地点或场所的词语。哈哈，刚刚查滴！
